Dr. Jegasothy- The Top 3 Ways to Get Rid of Acne Scars

People who have suffered from acne may find themselves with scarring. Here are some treatment recommendations to get rid of those scars:

  1. If pitted acne scars are deep, a filler such as Restylane® or Belotero® could fill them in and give your skin a smoother contour.
  2. If acne scars are shallow, the Fraxel® laser resurfaces the skin very well and requires minimal down time after the procedure.
  3. Microneedling or dermaroller treatment can also be a moderately effective treatment for acne scars. Often it is less expensive than laser treatments, and can be conveniently found  in cities and towns where Fraxel lasers are not readily available.

Make sure you see a board-certified dermatologist for any of these treatments, so that they are customized to your skin type and acne scars, to avoid further scarring or hyperpigmentation.

The above does not constitute medical advice. Please see your local physician if you are having any sort of medical problem.
